Some Observations on the Performance of Arvo Pärt's Choral Music

Almost alone amongst contemporary composers, Arvo Pärt has written the major portion of his music either for voices alone or for voices with instruments. ¹ His music therefore marks a major contribution to the choral repertoire at a time when most composers are still primarily engaged with instruments and solo voices.
