ABSTRACT

The European Aeronautics Defence and Space (EADS) Company is a conglomerate with products spanning a wide range of markets and activities. Two governments French and German are dearly interested in it, and the former has participation. The stock market had to digest unfavourable news regarding the aeronautics defence and space industrial giant. AMFs Investigation focused on the sale of millions of euros-worth of EADS options and shares by top executives in March and April 2006, as well as on their timing weeks before the company announced major delays to the superjumbo A380 which sent the stock price tumbling 26 per cent in one day. French entrepreneurs who are worth their salt can see very well the pitfalls embedded in the different forms of statism, Colbertism and economic nationalism. Airbus and EADS also announced that they would expand their activity in India because of the supply of good engineering talent there and that factories in Mexico were a possibility.
