ABSTRACT

Based on the inadequacy of the flight safety theories originating from Western linear thinking, and the difficulties of ideographic thinking operating in the environment created by Western thinking, it is necessary to consider establishing a theory of flight safety using Chinese ideographic thinking from the very beginning. However, do we really need a different type of theory when we already have several good ones, such as domino, accident chain, and defense-in-depth? The answer is yes, even if purely for academic interest.
