ABSTRACT

The written evidence in the Turin Egyptian Museum is composed of published catalogues and unpublished inventories, which were examined in detail in the search for any reference to Donati’s collection. Comparisons are made between the catalogues and inventories to reveal any differences. A table is presented that shows how the main events at the museum link with the introduction of new catalogues and inventories. The number of Vecchio Fondo objects (original collections) is presented in table form and their categories are also listed.
