ABSTRACT

The oil lamps are part of the 659 objects of material culture that Donati collected during his expedition in Egypt (Donati’s list, Chapter 6, Section 5). The aims of this chapter are threefold:

1 to examine Donati’s list in detail in order to separate the group of oil lamps that Donati listed from other groups of objects of material culture.

2 to analyse the best oil lamps that Donati described in order to be able to search and identify them at the Turin Egyptian Museum.

3 to reveal the finding of the analysis.
