This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explores contemporary music video and its current cultural and aesthetic status. By approaching music video in the light of its history, aesthetics, genre, mediality, audiovisuality, visual multiplicity, spatiotemporal hybridity, influence, and finally its online transformation, the book examines several changes within the field of music video as well as the general influence of music video on other audiovisual fields. It demonstrates how the music video has informed other media and how it is a constant presence. At times, it almost seems as if any combination of moving images and music is or at least has the potential to become a music video. "Like a Rolling Stone" is a clear-cut example of remediation as the representation of one medium in another, since the video presents a range of different media simultaneously.
