ABSTRACT
Th is dimension of culture deals with an orientation to the past, the present or the future. People with an orientation to the past will view the present and the future as an extension of the past. Th ey tend to set current and future performance standards by extending a trend line from past performance, and current and future actions will be aimed at preserving a past identity. Countries with a past orientation include most countries in Southern Europe and Latin America.
