ABSTRACT

No matter the extent that regulators or communities may want to shield the public from the view of renewable energy development, there will be times and places where that goal is not feasible. As was pointed out in Chapter 6, renewable energy facilities are very large, can extend over huge areas of land, often have high refl ectivity or contrasting colors, and can be seen for very long distances, making full screening extremely hard to achieve. Paying attention to design and mitigation is thus crucial in areas where aesthetic resources are a concern.
