ABSTRACT

This chapter elaborates on how the different positions work in collaboration with one another in order to realize a successful production, for it is the production that is the resultant dream which the many positions on the organizational chart working in collaboration hope to successfully realize. During the production process any one position may have to consider not only the execution of their own job, but also how they affect others to effectively perform their own respective tasks. In addition to supporting the audience and the performers, a theatrical complex very often takes on the responsibility for providing possible spaces for everyone on the production team to execute their jobs. For a theatre-in-the-round or arena theatre configuration audience seating encircles a playing area that typically might be floor level or on a raised circular or rectangular platform. In today's theatre both the audience and the performers place higher demands on the facility, and continually stretch the boundaries for greater technology.
