ABSTRACT
The current chapter will cover ethical principles, ethical dilemmas in sports performance analysis research projects and ethics policies and procedures. These issues were discussed in O’Donoghue’s (2010) chapter on ethical issues in sports performance analysis. The rationale for the current updated chapter is that sports performance analysis research is expanding in scope with studies combining performance analysis with other methods. Ethics processes are maturing, and many scholars in the area of sports performance analysis still lack a full understanding of ethical principles that are relevant to their research. The chapter commences with a section on ethical principles, followed by a section on ethical dilemmas in sports performance analysis and a discussion of ethical policies and procedures.
