ABSTRACT

Intersection is one of the key parts of an urban road network. Reasonable design of intersection is important in reducing the traffic congestion and improving the road-network capacity. This paper investigates the intersection of Liyang-Kuocang in Lishui City and analyzes its current traffic situations. Four modification scenarios are proposed from the perspective of traffic organization, traffic channelization, road reconstruction, and signal optimization on the basis of its prominent traffic problems. The current situation and the four scenarios are respectively evaluated and analyzed by utilizing simulation technology. The simulation results show that the scenario of signal-time optimization based on traffic channelization is the best, which can shorten the travel time and ease congestion of intersection effectively.
