ABSTRACT
Martin Luther King was murdered, and his death was followed by an outburst of racial and student disturbances. People had hardly arrived before the eruptions of May took place; and it was the same old story all over again students killed and wounded in the Latin Quarter, a general strike, and all on TV. In July people went back to France, and then again to America, where Robert Kennedy had been murdered and where the National Guard had been called out to keep order at the Democratic Convention in Chicago. Bludhorn asked everybody for his opinion in detail; and it was just like Prague back in the days of unadulterated Stalinism. Apparently Paramount had $100 million tied up in seven different movies. The company was in trouble and couldn't afford to get involved in any risky projects at the moment. Things are much simpler in Czechoslovakia, because there's not so much involved, for one thing.
