ABSTRACT
In 1492, when Christopher Columbus landed on a small island in the Caribbean, everyone’s world changed. In Europe, it kick-started the age of exploration (for better or for worse), science and technology began to dominate, and European powers came to control much of the planet. The New World followed a very different trajectory, one of genocide, disease, slavery, and domination.
