ABSTRACT

The work of a theatre artist may be fascinating, but it is also difficult. There is no other art that everyone discusses so resolutely and willingly, and with such careless ease. This is likely because the difficulties of acting technique are completely unseen. Everyone pronounces such categorical judgments, as if he is the preeminent specialist in theatrical matters and particularly, more than anywhere else, in the creative work of the actor. It would therefore be wise for theatre-lovers, and likewise people of theatre, to broaden and clarify what they already know about the main and fundamental questions of theatre. The mastery of such an invention as emotionally synthesizing thinking is capable of transforming the art of the actor. Once mastered, it will expose the pitiful state of one's present art. At such a time, it would be laughable to even refer to it as art. Those who wish to move this art forward must think about inventing something new.
