ABSTRACT
An artist's giftedness cannot be exhausted by a single quality that is useful and vital for Nikolai Demidov's profession. Giftedness that is capable of leading somebody to the creation of works of art is inevitably the combination of a great amount of different qualities, unique ones, as well as general, common ones. The first prerequisite for being an artist is one's ability to see and sense the beautiful and grand. At the sight of beauty, an artist has very distinctive feelings. He forgets himself, he completely gives over to the power of these feelings. An environment of beauty is the natural environment of an artist, and he flings the gates of his soul wide open for it, forgetting everything else in the world. Aside from the aforementioned qualities which discern an artist and a great person, every specialization requires its own specific giftedness.
