ABSTRACT

The actor and the audience - this connection is important, as without it, there is no actor, there is no theatre; but there is a third thing that connects them - the world of fantasy and imagination without which the actor and the audience are strangers that have no need for each other. An inherent quality of theatre is the audience - the audience that is there while the actor creates. After all, only the audience can reveal whether one is an actor, or a vagabond that accidentally ended up on the stage. For one, the audience is a distraction - they cause them to "break character", they activate all of his brakes - he has to resist them, "overcome" the audience and distract himself with various tricks. People say that actors die young. They dissipate all their energies onstage. This is untrue. The ones that die young do not die from art.
