ABSTRACT

Blogging is a way that children have the opportunity to explore, articulate and develop their own values, as well as to encounter and consider those of others. This chapter focuses on the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, Face to Faith approach partly because it is explicitly founded on a dialogic pedagogy. Their free pack of resources give a step by step guide to preparing children for intercultural dialogue, finding a partner class and running video-conferencing dialogues or blogging about issues of meaning and value. The British Council offer a number of templates for partnerships that are focused on tackling global challenges together such as global food issues, gender issues, education or peace and global security. But of course it is not really possible to contrast the interests of individual children with the interests of educational long-term dialogues and the dialogue of humanity as a whole.
