ABSTRACT

The current state of research in the economics of food security is reviewed. Various perspectives on food and nutrition security are examined based on the multiple dimensions and diverse attributes of food security. Recent work is categorized according to the four dimensions of food security, which are availability, access, utilization, and stability. The breadth of the current work reflects the complexity of food security, as producers, policy makers, and researchers seek solutions that will allow all members of society to live an active and healthy life.
