ABSTRACT

Ethical standards in the field of art therapy serve as a guide for professional practitioners and as a means of protecting the public. Art therapy as a profession has the responsibility of addressing practices that involve the emotions and the imaginal capacities. This chapter addresses emerging ethical trends in the field of art therapy, such as the ethics of culture, social responsibility, and evidence, while also addressing areas of specific focus in the field of art therapy, including ethics of place, materials, and technology, and ultimately the ethics of the artist.
