ABSTRACT
Schools must therefore communicate clearly to parents to avoid misconceptions which could
conflict with cultural norms and present engagement in a variety of ways to increase uptake.
In order for all parents to remain positive influences in their children’s education at eve-
ry grade level, all schools must develop and maintain effective and goal-linked programs
of family and community involvement.
