ABSTRACT
Professional newsletters are a source of timely information. Newsletters are commonly published by associations, and in some ways, are the face of the association. Two major newsletters in school psychology are The School Psychologist, published by Division 16 of the American Psychological Association, and the Communique, published by the National Association of School Psychologists. This chapter focuses on Communique and The School Psychologist. The School Psychologist considers briefer applied articles, test reviews, and book reviews for publication. Although not an indexed journal, The School Psychologist endeavors to adhere to a number of suggested practices to ensure quality in its peer-reviewed pieces. It is primarily targeted to scholars and practitioners within the field of school psychology. Articles likely to be accepted for publication in Communique will be written in a clear, concise, and engaging way designed to give school psychologists important information that will help them improve their day-to-day practice.
