ABSTRACT
August 15, 1958, was a beautiful day. The entire faculty and student body of Shansi Agricultural College were dressed up neatly, as if they were involved in some happy occasion. They formed a long line and proceeded jubilantly to the railway station in T’ai-ku to greet Ning Hua-t’ang, dressed in a pair of mountain boots and coarse clothes, who, as a specialist in herding sheep, had been invited by the college to take a post as professor in the department of animal husbandry.
