ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts covered in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides a global analysis integrating general results and trends based on the scoping phase and the scoreboarding process in a thorough analysis of the quali-quantitative data. It deals with each dimension of media and information literacy (MIL) in particular across countries, and focuses on the interpretation of the qualitative information provided by the reports. The book presents a thematic overview of conditions for teacher training, considering the impact of the policy framework on MIL capacity-building. It seeks to come up with an analytical understanding of the dynamics of multi-stakeholder cooperation. The book focuses on the structure and modalities of assessment and financial support. The book describes the varying degrees of recognition of MIL within an explicitly legal framework, considering its various stages: fully present, at an advanced level of development or still in the initial stages.
