ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides a framework for the "consideration" of college reading and study strategies instruction. It addresses many of the problems associated with such student assessment. The book also suggests solutions to some of these problems. Conducting research on the outcomes of reading and study strategies courses and programs is an important responsibility for professionals in the field. Doing so to understand the outcomes of courses and programs on diverse students is especially important because such research enables us to better serve these students who have traditionally been underserved. The book provides basic literacy instruction for adults but teach advanced reading and learning strategies for graduate students.
