ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the importance of art classes leading the education of Futurists. In the art class, there is time and opportunity to formulate future visions. Since the art room and its association with invention is a central theme, Centers of Innovation focus on educating futurists. Original expressions of the future need to become a principal theme of art classes if art education is to shape the future of art and design, neighborhoods and future worlds. Art classes can provide open canvases; spaces and surfaces to be filled by dreamers and futurists. Student futurists are raised with experimental spirits, audacity, excitement and interest in an art that may exist in future. One important aim of art education is to encourage students to courageously create change, revel in the new, and entertain ideas that are unconventional. In many American cities like Lexington, it can be impossible to sell a modern masterpiece, and such treasures fall prey to invasion of development builders.
