ABSTRACT

The Living School concept has grown from Living Campus, which, at this time, is more developed with many concrete examples. Learning about the benefits of Living Campus will reveal the potential benefits of applying it to K-12 settings. Chris is working in an organization that has made a commitment to sustainability as well as an institution that has been actively seeking opportunities to heal in the wake of the 2006 shooting at Dawson during which a single gunman injured 16 people, killing one Dawson student, Anastasia Rebecca De Sousa. The Peace Garden is a sanctuary for the Dawson community. Applying the concept of externalities to education, Robinson and Aronica challenge us to understand the true cost of industrial education that ignores the damage to society and the human spirit. It may eventually lead us towards more compassionate and sustainable societies. Robinson and Aronica are connecting the dots between creativity and sustainability education.
