ABSTRACT

Pelle Lindberg was an award-winning goalie for the Philadelphia Flyers professional hockey team during the early 1980s. He died tragically at age twenty-seven when his car hit a roadside obstacle on the evening of November 20, 1985. In simple language, we call this an accident. After all, nobody had any intention or expectation that this would happen. But was this just a cruel stroke of fate, or were there factors in the pattern of events that made this crash more likely to occur?
