ABSTRACT

The chapter begins with an example of junior high students teaching their peers in their own classroom. With this experience in hand, we move to challenging them to teach students from a younger class. In both cases, the students are prepared with help in planning their lessons. In addition to anticipating what they might want to talk about, we also place emphasis on encouraging the young ones to talk about what they have learned-and to listen attentively. For teachers, we emphasize what it takes to engender and heighten exuberance for both of these tasks.
