ABSTRACT
Research in the health sciences is directed toward the explicitly practical goal of acquiring knowledge useful in promoting human health and alleviating human injury and disease. Despite its seemingly universal humanist aims, feminists have noted that in practice health science research is often shaped by inegalitarian assumptions and practices.
