ABSTRACT

The cognitive process of learning has four basic stages. The first attention: the filter through which we experience the world. The second is encoding: how we process what our attention admits into the mind. The third is storage: what happens once information enters the brain. the fourth is retrieval: the recall of that information or behavior. Students, just like all of us, tend to prioritize the learning of things that will impact them. It is in our nature to pay attention (and kick off the learning process) to information that is connected to our interests and needs. The SAMR Model is one of the most pervasive technology integration frameworks for education. Technology has proven time and time again that it eliminates many skills previously valued by past generations. Whether we want to embrace it or not, the fact is that technology has transformed our world and the reality of learning, and living, in it.
