ABSTRACT

The Platform on Disaster Displacement (PDD) is a state-led process that includes governments, policymakers, practitioners and researchers in an ongoing initiative that seeks to strengthen the protection of people displaced across national borders in the context of disasters and the adverse impacts of climate change. It emerged from the Nansen Initiative on disaster displacement and was launched at the World Humanitarian Summit in May 2016. This chapter summarizes the actions, activities, and future objectives of the PDD as of early 2017.
