ABSTRACT

Significant elements of systemic racism and systemic sexism could be observed throughout the 2016 US presidential campaign. This chapter distinguishes Donald Trump in his influential framing and powerful actions from most others who control the country's elite-white-male dominance system, including its sexist, racist, classist subsystems. It examines Donald Trump's effort to become the Republican presidential candidate, and then US president, and numerous related actions and events across the course of the 2016 presidential election in order to underscore people arguments about the continuing centrality and everyday operation of this elite-white-male system. The xenophobic and racist framing and rhetoric of various conservative politicians during this 2016 election season had many negative impacts. The dominant male sexist frame justifies and enforces the gender and patriarchal hierarchization of western societies.
