J. Lee Nicholson was looked upon in this country as the “father of cost accounting.” This quotation ¹ was introduced into a conversation among a group of CPAs. For a moment the result was only blank stares and lifted eyebrows, until one of the group ventured the question, “And who, may I ask, is J. Lee Nicholson?”
