ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the role of peace leadership within protracted ethnopolitical conflicts, noticing the different types of peace leaders that de-escalate tensions and play a significant leadership role in the transformation of these conflicts. It highlights the impact of political psychology, taking into account the importance of decision-making, motivation, socialization, stereotypes, and personality that impact the peace leaders’ behavior and leadership styles. “Leadership is the influencing process of leaders and followers to achieve objectives through change”. The historical context of a person living at a particular time in a particular cultural, political, and socioeconomic system is important to comprehend how the early development of children influences the perspective they develop.
