ABSTRACT

The solution focused (SF) approach lends itself wonderfully to working with teams in a variety of different contexts including team building; developing vision, mission and values; and strategy and planning. The SF approach is especially powerful in an Asian context as it encourages active participation from all team members. Where other approaches allow passive ‘onlooker’ behaviour, SF offers tools, processes and an underlying philosophy that setup each individual for success from the start. Who wouldn’t want to have the spotlight shone on their greatest achievements – especially when underlying strengths and qualities emerge and can be leveraged even more powerfully in the future? This chapter offers a glimpse into a team intervention grounded on SF principles and supported by SF tools.
