Right to suspend work

Section 5 of the Act entitles the executing party to suspend work where a sum due under the contract (whether due under the statutory provisions or otherwise) is not paid. Section 7 entitles the executing party to suspend work where an amount due pursuant to the decision of an adjudicator is not paid. The former is regressive in comparison to standard existing provisions, and the latter may yet make a mockery of the Act.
