ABSTRACT
In Chapter 2, a calibration of the World3–03 model (the latest version of World3 available) using historical data from 1995 to 2012 is presented. In the context of this book, the World3–03 calibration highlights the differences between the evolution of the real world and that modelled in the original Limits to Growth. This approach is different from previous attempts which compared the real world data with the Limits to Growth scenario outputs rather than calibrating World3 in an attempt to recreate the real world.
