ABSTRACT
Not surprisingly, my research in this incipient phase of my scholarly career has focused on LTI and on the intersection between LTI and the implementation of educational innovations, with a particular focus on traditional foreign language contexts in the United States. It is through this principal lens that I off er my thoughts in this chapter on the current state of and future directions in LTI theory and research.
