ABSTRACT

The growing acceptance of digital technology along with the need to understand complex data sets has resulted in a significant increase in the number of Dashboards being used across the federal government. However, it can be difficult for practitioners to bridge the gap between what is proposed in theory and how these methods can be applied in practice. In this perspective piece, as a Personnel Psychologist with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), I present my assessment of how Dashboards are being used and their potential as social media tools within this agency and across the federal government.
