ABSTRACT
Family life in the EU is protected, amongst other provisions, by Article 7 of the Charter, which also guarantees the right to respect for private life, home and communications. Together with Article 8 of the Charter, Article 7 is directly linked to Article 8 ECHR, which inspired the drafting of the Charter and which should inspire its interpretation.
