ABSTRACT

Fly ash is the waste emissions of burning coal powder from coal-fired power plants, the annual emissions of fly ash exceed 100,000,000t in China (Li 2004). But the reutilization rate of fly ash is only 30%, and more than 70% of that are used in building materials, construction engineering, road engineering etc. Fly ash can be processed to synthetic zeolite (Xu et al. 2006). The fly ash zeolite has very good adsorption properties because its’ very large specific surface area. And the fly ash zeolite has good removal effect of =Hg2+, Pb2+, Cu2+, Ni2+, Zn2+ and other heavy metal ions in wastewater on (Li 2004, Luo 2004). Its unique physical and chemical properties along with its low cost lead to broad application prospect in wastewater treatment.
