ABSTRACT

This chapter considers the challenges the projects covered in this book have faced and of what anyone attempting a compassionate design project might need to be aware. These include those issues relating to divergent agendas, lack of financial resources, lack of experience and know-how, a predisposition to focus on the risks of making changes, misunderstandings, bureaucratic incompatibility, the difficulty piecing together the jigsaw of diverse resources that are available to projects of this type, burn out of key personnel and unexpected responses to the interventions.
