ABSTRACT

After participating in our learning community for teacher educators for a year, Eva dropped out. Curious about the influence of her experience in the community on her teaching, we interviewed her a year later, asking her what had happened over that year in her courses in terms of teaching thinking? Eva responded candidly:

I really didn’t use it, I really didn’t use it. I really didn’t use it. When I planned the lessons, I didn’t think how I am going to put this in or how am I going to continue it. I don’t know of anything in my class or in my instruction that I do this year [regarding thinking education]. And again if I try to think why this is so, it is because teaching thinking is not prominent in my thoughts as it was last year.
