ABSTRACT
The pyroclastic soils are produced by volcanic explosive eruptions, wind transportation and air-fall deposition (Cuomo, 2006) and they mantle steep slopes nearby the volcanoes. Thus, the pyroclastic soils may be involved in landslides of the flow-type, which frequently result in casualties and damage to property (Cascini et al., 2010).
