ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper is to experimentally evaluate the effect of the freeze-thaw action and moisture condition on the cyclic mechanical property of a volcanic soil deposited in Hokkaido. To achieve this, using the cyclic triaxial test apparatus possible to control temperature and/or moisture conditions of specimens prior to cyclic shearing, the liquefaction resistance of the volcanic soil was verified under variable conditions of compaction, freeze-thaw and moisture content at shearing.
