ABSTRACT

One strategy good producers implement to increase their chances of reaching performance-level work is to schedule technically or artistically uncomplicated scenes during the first or second day of production. Good producers understand the inevitability of these four stages in the life cycle of production and allow for their natural development. Filmmakers use the term camera setup to define the moment a camera is moved to a new position on a film set. While the job of directing actors falls mainly on the director, producers need to understand how to work with different actor types as well. The current thinking about the profession of cinematographer is that because cameras have become so easy to use cinematography is a job title en route to extinction. The cinematographer's job boils down to three basic ideas: how to interpret the script, how to work with the director, and how to bring his own creative vision to the film.
