ABSTRACT

The subsections of Section A3 provide a brief discussion of common linguistic constructs that are typically investigated using corpora and are useful for teachers in developing teaching materials in their classrooms. It starts with basic unit-level frequency distribution, from a single word or a phrase, then moves on to Key Word in Contexts (KWICs), collocations, multiword units, key words, and patterns of co-occurrence of various POS-tagged features. A3 ends with a detailed discussion on online corpus-based visualizers and how these could be used in the classroom.
