ABSTRACT

This chapter talks about checking hotel room availability and getting familiar with Korean terms used at the hotel. It helps to get familiar with the honorific formal polite sentence ending is used in a formal setting such as at work or at a formal meeting which refers to somebody who is superior to or somebody with whom people have a more formal interaction even though he/she may be of the same age or the same social position. The chapter discusses the exercises to check the comprehension of the vocabulary, grammar points and functions from the model dialogue that includes both structural drills and communicative tasks. It focuses on the dialogue that demonstrates the authentic communicative exchanges among the characters featured in Colloquial Korean. This chapter deals with the cultural point that presents up-to-date cultural information relevant to the unit content and useful tips for visitors in the Republic of Korea.
