ABSTRACT

This chapter presents conversations in the Mandarin Chinese language based on common daily situations with their English translations. English translation enables to follow Chinese more closely. It presents few vocabularies, grammar sections and speech patterns in the Mandarin Chinese language with their appropriate English meanings along with examples. Grammar part discusses Unmarked co-ordination, a number of things or activities of equal status, whose order may be changed without affecting the grammar, may follow one after the other without the connection being marked. Unmarked subordination, here one proposition depends on another and conveyed by the order they occur. Modal verbs (MV) are auxiliary verbs expressing volition, obligation, capability, and so on. Negation is a unary logical connective. Speech patterns teaches, creating sentences with action verbs and modal verbs. The solid foundation of this chapter is to enhance Chinese language to peoples those who wish to advance their language skills to higher levels.
