ABSTRACT

School psychologists are well aware of legal-ethical mandates for continuing professional development (CPD) in order to maintain professional credentials such as the National School Psychologist Certification (NCSP) and state school psychology licenses required for school-based and independent practice. The supervisory skills explicated in this text require the same level of attention for ongoing professional development and collegial consultation as all other clinical skills. This chapter will discuss the rationale for continuing professional development related to supervision competencies and describe the various resources available to meet this need.
